Shravana Month Seva

Śrāvaṇa Month – A Sacred Time for Devotion and Seva

Among the sacred months of the Vedic calendar, Śrāvaṇa Month is especially auspicious for increasing our devotion to Lord Krishna. It is a time to deepen our spiritual practices through chanting the holy names, hearing Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and engaging in loving devotional service.

The Śrīmad Bhāgavatam glorifies hearing and chanting the transcendental names and pastimes of Lord Krishna as the most effective means to purify the heart and awaken pure devotion. Devotional activities performed during this sacred month become powerful opportunities for spiritual advancement.

The scriptures also highly glorify Gau Seva, Anna Daan (Prasadam Distribution), Deity Seva, and Temple Seva. Offering Krishna Prasadam nourishes both the body and the soul, while serving and protecting cows pleases Lord Krishna, who is lovingly known as Govinda and Gopala. Every sincere act of service offered with devotion brings immense spiritual benefit and attracts the Lord’s mercy.

May Lord Krishna bless you and your family with unwavering devotion, spiritual strength, peace, prosperity, and His divine protection throughout this auspicious Śrāvaṇa Month.

“By hearing Śrīmad Bhāgavatam and engaging in devotional service during Śrāvaṇa Month, one steadily progresses on the path of bhakti and receives the mercy of Lord Krishna.”
