Sri Gaura Purnima
Lord Chaitanya is considered to be a direct incarnation of Lord Krishna Himself, specifically in the form of Sri Krishna combined with the mood and complexion of Srimati Radharani. “Lord Chaitanya is known as Patita Pavana or one who delivers the fallen.”
He appeared in the 15th century in West Bengal, India, to spread the congregational chanting of the holy names of Krishna and to deliver the highest form of love of God known as “prema bhakti.”
Lord Chaitanya performed various pastimes and miracles that showcased His divine nature and supreme authority, similar to those performed by Lord Krishna in his previous incarnations.
His teachings emphasized the importance of chanting the Hare Krishna mantra and engaging in devotional service to attain spiritual perfection and ultimately attain love of God.
The Vedic scriptures and the teachings of Srila Prabhupada confirm Lord Chaitanya’s identity as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, fulfilling the prophecy of His appearance to sppread the sankirtan movement for the benefit of all living beings.
